Animal Trackers For Kindergarten
Program Description
Physical Activity & Motor Skills Development Program for Children in Kindergarten
Animal Trackers for Kindergarten is a motor skills and physical activity curriculum for five- to six-year-olds. It’s designed to be FUN for young children - and to give them an opportunity to LEARN and PRACTICE motor skills, which are basic to physical activity and sports activities.
We all want our children to be healthy and physically active. We want them to enjoy running around and playing games with other children. We’d like them to play sports as they get older and enjoy being on a team with others. We’d like them to run with ease, catch a ball, kick and jump and balance and ride a bike or roller blade. All these activities are based on the gross motor skills they will experience and practice in Animal Trackers.
Some children develop certain motor skills very early, and some develop them later. Some children seem well coordinated, while others seem to be clumsy and have two left feet. Animal Trackers is for children with all levels of skill. It gives them an opportunity to practice the skills and enjoy them in a fun, non competitive atmosphere.
If young children become more skillful at running, kicking, balancing, jumping, and all the other gross motor skills that Animal Trackers emphasizes, we believe they will grow to enjoy physical activity. They will be more willing to participate in many of the sports, recreation, and dance activities available to them as older children and adolescents. Physical activity throughout life is one of the very best ways to stay healthy and avoid such chronic diseases as heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure that show up in adult life - but have their roots in childhood. Physical activity and mastery of gross motor skills in early childhood provides a critical foundation for lifelong health and well-being.
